Our lawyers have over two decades of experience in the Irish energy market. Whether you are a developer, utilitiy, state agency, sponsor or financial institution, we can advise you on a wide range of energy projects and energy regulation matters, including conventional, renewable, hybrid, storage and interconnection projects. Our full-service offering includes lawyers in Energy, Real Estate, Planning and Environmental, Corporate and Banking.
Our recent experience includes advising:
- the Irish electric power transmission operator and its French counterpart on the construction and procurement of the Celtic Interconnector project, a 700MW 570KM subsea electricity interconnector between Ireland and France. The project is one of the most ground-breaking energy projects ever undertaken by an Irish entity
- a large international data centre developer on the development of three data centre campuses and an on-site 100MW generating station in Ireland. Advice includes input on the contractual and corporate structure of the project, including the EPC and O&M contracts
- a large domestic lending institution in relation to project financing of eight solar farm developments in Co. Cork, Ireland. We also recently advised the client on the financing of an extension to the Glenmore wind farm, located in Co. Clare, Ireland,
- a major international energy company in relation to its 51% investment in the developer of a proposed floating offshore wind project off the south west coast of Ireland. The project will initially comprise of a 300MW array, before scaling to a 1GW floating offshore wind farm
- the owner and operator of the Irish gas network on European and Irish regulatory rules and approach to hydrogen in relation to a potential involvement in hydrogen-related activities in Ireland
