Diogo Bernardo Monteiro joined Eversheds Sutherland in 2000 and became a Partner in 2009. He coordinates the Tax Department.
He develops most of his activity in tax consultancy and litigation and international and domestic tax planning, in the Portuguese, Angolan and Mozambican jurisdictions. He is an experienced tax lawyer very active in providing tax advice to the clients at every stage of transactions, on all aspects of domestic and international tax, in co-ordination with the other practice areas, providing tax-related advice as part of an integrated service, as well as direct advice to the clients. This has led to his recognition and recommendation in several international legal directories.
In 2014, he was appointed to the Corporate Income Tax Reform Monitoring Committee by the Secretary of State for Tax Affairs.
More recently, Diogo was appointed as chairman of the Tax and Social Security Counsel of CIP – Confederation of Portuguese Business.
