Jose Gerez is an associate in the Investment Services & Products practice group, advising broker-dealers, investment advisers, investment funds, insurance companies, and insurance distributors on securities laws and regulations.
Jose has experience helping clients navigate compliance with federal and state securities laws, including the rules and regulations set forth by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Jose participated in the firm’s Summer Associate program. During law school, he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and the New York Civil Court Consumer Law Clinic.
Jose is also engaged in the firm's pro bono initiatives, including serving as pro bono outside counsel for Kids in Need of Defense (KIND). In this capacity, he represents individuals and families navigating the complexities of the immigration system, including asylum applications, family court guardianship petitions, and proceedings before Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
