Eversheds Sutherland advises Beech Tree Private Equity on its investment in Obsequio GroupMarch 27, 2023 Eversheds Sutherland has advised Beech Tree Private Equity on its investment in technology driven compliance and safety solutions provider, Obsequio Group. Obsequio currently trades under its three core brands of CDS, Genex and Drax, and today also announces the acquisition of APS Security & Fire, the Nottingham-based fire and security company. The combined Group provides a range of technology driven compliance solutions to ensure the environments where people spend their time, whether to live in, learn in or work in, are completely safe. Obsequio’s customers include hospitals, universities, local authorities, leisure centres and student accommodation providers. The Eversheds Sutherland team was led by Partner Antony Walsh, supported by Principal Associate Chris Archer, Senior Associate Hannah Kaye, Associate Paul Jackson (all corporate), Partner Chris Hastings, Senior Associate Lisa Boyle (both banking) Partner Colin Askew and Senior Associate Matthew Cummings (both tax). Having already acquired six businesses over the last two years, Beech Tree’s investment and the follow on acquisition facility provided by Beechbrook give Obsequio significant firepower to execute its strategy to acquire more complementary businesses in the life safety and compliance services arena. Chris Archer, Eversheds Sutherland, said: “We have been advising Beech Tree for a number of years and we couldn’t be more pleased to have helped successfully deliver another significant investment in the tech-enabled support services sector. We look forward to working alongside Beech Tree and Obsequio on the execution of their exciting acquisition strategy, and continuing to support Beech Tree on future opportunities.” Ben Cartwright, Beech Tree, said: “Eversheds Sutherland is a trusted advisor, having built up our relationship with them over a number of years. Chris, Antony and the team have once again delivered a fantastic result for us on this significant deal, which is in a key investment area for us. We look forward to continuing our work with them.” Latest Insights
