Philippa is a partner in our London investment and development team, leading complex development projects in the UK and other jurisdictions.
She has a wide range of experience in corporate and asset acquisitions and disposals, off-shore structuring and lending transactions, and leads the Data Centre Development team, within our wider Data Centre Group. She also leads the PBSA practice.
Her primary practice areas focus on real estate backed operating business, principally in the data centre and student accommodation/build-to-rent sectors, where she coordinates acquisitions, developments and operational agreements. She has acted on many acquisitions and disposals of both asset purchase and corporate wrapped single asset and portfolio PBSA assets. Philippa advises on project heads of terms and negotiates land acquisition contracts, development agreements (including funding) and financial earn-outs, and works closely with our power, permitting, construction and tax teams. She also project manages a range of similar transactions in Europe and has spent time working in our Paris and Munich offices, working on many multi-jurisdictional transactions and delivering training to clients on best practice in relation to these complex transaction types. Philippa has recently advised on two data centre land acquisition and development projects in Japan, working in conjunction with local counsel.

- advising a global investment managers on the acquisition and development of a number of single asset and portfolio PBSA assets across the UK;
- leading the team advising a global investor on the wrapped sale of an office complex in London for c£500m;
- advising on project heads of terms and negotiating the subsequent land acquisition contract for a data centre developer, including negotiation of the development agreement (including funding) and financial earn-out
- Project managing a range of PBSA and data centre transactions in Europe.
- Advising on two data centre land acquisition and development projects in Japan, working in conjunction with local counsel.
- acting for a private equity investor on the acquisition of a number of sites under construction for PBSA and the eventual sale of the business for c£1bn;
- acting for a global retailer/logistics company on complex development transactions in the UK and Germany;
- advising on the forward purchase of a portfolio of multifamily assets under development.
