Christian Rudloff has more than two decades of experience in global project development, finance and asset acquisition and disposition transactions for a wide range of energy and other infrastructure matters.
Fluent in Spanish, he has worked extensively on development projects in the US and abroad, including in Latin America and Africa.
He advises diverse stakeholders – including global corporations and financial institutions as sponsors, suppliers, contractors, borrowers, lenders and offtakers – on the complex and multifaceted aspects of development projects. His successful track record includes work in multiple forms of renewable energy, oil and gas, infrastructure and mining and metals, for projects that are often cross-border.
He also leads negotiations for the structuring of complex transactions relating to major capital projects, such as for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts, offtake agreements and various other project development agreements.
He also advises clients on general corporate matters, including corporate governance and formation, joint ventures, asset acquisitions, divestments and restructuring and sustainability matters.
Prior to Eversheds Sutherland, Christian was counsel for more than 17 years at two global law firms in New York where he focused on a broad range of finance and energy-related work.
Christian’s experience also includes over eight years of diverse international legal experience in Chile and Mexico.
Represented a consortium of lenders in the financing of the development, construction and operation of a desalination plant and water supply system to be located in Northern Chile (Awarded multiple “Deal of the Year” awards, including from IJGlobal and Project Finance International)
Represented multilateral and development finance institutions in the financing of a greenfield solar/BESS power project in the Dominican Republic
Represented the mandated lead arrangers and lenders on the financing of the renewable portfolio in Chile, consisting of two solar power plants and three wind farms, with a total installed capacity of 630 MW (“Renewable Energy Financing of the Year” by Latin Finance; “Renewables Deal of the Year” by Proximo)
Represented an investment fund on its acquisition of a developer, with multiple wind projects across the US

Represented the financial services division of a global conglomerate on its acquisition of a 24.99 percent stake in an IPP in Argentina
Represented lenders on a $171 million senior secured credit facility for an IPP that owns a run-of-river hydropower plant and related transmission assets in Chile
Counsel to the Sponsors bidding on a major desalination plant under a BOOT structure for a mining company in Chile
Represented a Chilean power generation company on the financing of an expansion to increase by 133 MW an existing diesel-fired power station located in Chile
Represented a state authority in the Middle East and North Africa region on the development and financing of a first-in-kind and first-in-country $25 billion nuclear new build project and negotiating the EPC, Fuel Supply, O&M and Radioactive Waste Treatment contracts
