He advises clients on compliance with the Internal Revenue Code, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and other various federal and state laws relevant to retirement, fringe benefit, equity incentive, and executive compensation plans.
He has extensive experience addressing compliance issues for both tax-qualified and non-qualified deferred compensation arrangements for private, tax-exempt, and governmental clients. Jack also guides clients through compensation and employment-related matters arising from mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.
Jack is also a Captain in the U.S. Army JAG Corps Reserves. He maintains an active pro bono practice advocating for veteran’s rights and benefits both in the private sector and in front of military tribunals.
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Jack worked as an attorney in the Qualified Plans branch at the IRS, Office of Chief Counsel, and as a hybrid ERISA and employment litigation associate at a boutique employee benefits firm.
Jack is barred in Virginia and is applying for D.C. licensure. He currently practices under the supervision of attorneys barred in the District of Columbia.
