Kristen also advises clients on complex leasing transactions, particularly regarding the proper tax characterization of agreements and tangential issues. Her practice involves federal income tax compliance, planning and controversy, including representation at the IRS National Office with private letter rulings and technical advice. She also works with multinational clients on domestic and international tax planning and transactional matters.
Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Kristen worked in the National Tax Office of Big Four accounting firms, where she advised large corporations on issues impacting federal periods, methods and credits. Her previous experience includes work as a research assistant for the Honorable Kenneth F. Ripple, focusing on issues related to constitutional law and judicial process. She also served as a judicial extern for Judge Deborah C. Servino of the Superior Court of California.
