Kim is a Senior Associate (CILEx) who joined the Employment Labor and Pensions practice group in Manchester in 2019 and has over 9 years’ PQE of focusing on all aspects of employment and discrimination law and data protection.
Kim’s practice includes providing extensive support to a wide range of employer only clients from various sectors. This includes advising within the education sector team and a wide range of commercial clients. Kim advises on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment law and leads on various advisory services providing advice on all employment relations matters such as complex internal disciplinary, grievance and capability processes. Kim regularly deals with thorny discrimination issues and has extensive experience in sexual harassment / misconduct. Kim regularly advises on dealing with employee welfare/mental health and suicide risk management. Kim is also a lead in relation to GDPR related issues and atypical working including apprenticeships.
Kim regularly negotiates deals at a pre litigation stage to secure the best outcome for the client and is a tenacious but pragmatic negotiator.
Kim was a co-opted school governor (Vice Chair) within a primary school for 6 years.
Kim regularly trains clients in all employment related matters including recently: long term absence, mental health in the workplace, sexual harassment and apprentice issues.
Kim has recently undertaken and completed the Pre Application Judicial Education Programme (“PAJE”) that is run by the Judicial Appointments Commission.
Kim is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
