Matthias is one of the founding partners of Eversheds Sutherland in Germany and, until recently, was head of Eversheds Sutherland's global industrial sector. Prior to that, Matthias was managing partner for Germany for many years.
Matthias has over 30 years of experience and specialises in advising companies and financial investors on M&A matters and on issues relating to corporate, group and capital market law. He also advises on corporate restructuring, having advised on various national and international restructuring, financing and reorganisation projects in recent years. His regular clients include international industrial groups, listed companies, large family-owned businesses, financial investors and banks, whom he advises on all aspects of corporate law, in particular on the preparation and implementation of general meetings. Matthias is also a member of several supervisory and advisory boards and has acted as an arbitrator in capital market and corporate law disputes.
Matthias has particular expertise in advising corporate groups on their inbound investments in Germany and on cross-border M&A projects, an area in which Eversheds Sutherland ranks among the top 10 global law firms. Matthias' personal focus is on advising business owners on the sale of their companies. In addition, Matthias regularly advises executive boards and managing directors on corporate and contract law matters as well as liability issues.
