Dan is a Senior Associate in Eversheds Sutherland’s Commercial Dispute Resolution team, based in Manchester.
Dan is a commercially-focussed lawyer adept at helping clients resolve their disputes. He has helped clients resolve various contract issues, ranging from high-value M&A disputes to breach of software licence claims. Dan has also advised clients in the areas of defamation, employee breach of covenant, and professional negligence.
Dan also has recent experience acting for seven high profile clients in complex High Court litigation and was part of a multi-disciplinary team that took this case to a six week trial.
Dan has a particular interest in tech and media disputes. He has helped a number of clients bring or defend software licencing claims and has defended several data controllers and processors against claims brought under data protection legislation / the tort of misuse of private information.

Daniel has acted on a number of heavyweight disputes, including:
- acting for several English water companies to defend claims brought by c. 120 claimants under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004. Upon issue, the claims were valued at c. £350m by the claimants – Daniel spent around 3 ½ years working as part of a large multi-disciplinary team to bring this case to trial
- assisting the owners of a multibillion-pound property estimate in London bring a claim against their former asset managers; the causes of action included breach of fiduciary duty, conspiracy, bribery, knowing receipt, and dishonest assistance
- advising the administrators of a large financial services company and the CEO of the company regarding a claim threatened by a former consultant alleging breach of an oral agreement
- Black Solicitors Network North (Chair) – Dan leads a network of several hundred lawyers and students in the Greater Manchester area. He is also a Director of the Black Solicitors Network Limited
- Manchester Law Society (Council Member) – Dan sits on the Council of the most active local law society in the country, as well as on three of its sub-committees
