We represented Stena Recycling Oy in a corporate transaction

We acted as advisor to Stena Recycling Oy in a corporate transaction where our client will acquire all shares of Encore Environmental Services Ltd. As a result of the transaction, the operations of Stena Recycling in the recycling sector will almost double in Finland.

The sellers are, among others, UPM, Stora Enso, Metsä Group and Sonoco-Alcore.

The transaction value has not been disclosed. The transaction is subject to the approval of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority.

Stena Recycling currently offers various circular economy services and recycles, among other things, metals, electrical and electronic devices, hazardous waste and end-of-life vehicles in Finland.

Encore Environmental Services has a strong background in wastepaper collection and recycling.

The team responsible for the assignment included Partners Peter Salovaara, Olli Hyvönen and Johan Wesander, Senior Adviser Antti Liimatainen, Project Managers Santeri Vaattovaara and Max Tarkkala, Specialist Counsel Jussi Aranne, Associates Alexiina Ahonkivi, Petra Snäll, Sanni Tirkkonen and Else Leppänen.
