The German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche (WiWo) has again recognised Eversheds Sutherland as a top legal practice for IT and data protection law. Moreover, the Partners Dr. Alexander Niethammer and Nils Müller rank among the most recommended lawyers for data protection law in Germany. Alexander Niethammer (Munich) advises national and international clients on all questions of IT and data protection law as well as contract law, in particular within the framework of global projects and M&A transactions. His areas of specialisation include advising in connection with IT outsourcings, international licence agreements, technology project contracts and the structuring of distribution networks. Nils Müller (Munich), certified lawyer for information technology law, focuses on data protection law supporting companies in particular with respect to national and multi-national data protection projects (product and service compliance, data transmission and big data). He has particular expertise in the areas of employee data protection and life sciences (patient data, digital health). Furthermore, he represents clients in proceedings before the data protection authorities and in court litigation. The IT and Data Protection practice group advises regarding technology and data protection topics, both within the framework of projects and corporate transactions and with respect to the day-to-day business and legal disputes. The practice group focuses inter alia on IT outsourcings and other IT projects, maintenance and service agreements, software development and licencing, cloud computing, IT compliance, data protection and cyber security as well as the current questions of digital transformation, such as the establishment of digital business models, artificial intelligence (AI), corporate digital responsibility (CDR) and big data. For the WiWo rankings, Handelsblatt Research Institute (HRI) asked more than 1,250 lawyers from 152 law firms to name their most renowned colleagues for data protection and IT law.
