Ellie is an Senior Associate in our Pensions team with a background in financial services.
Ellie practices in a variety of areas, focusing on pensions insurance and investment. Ellie’s clients have included institutional investors (including pension schemes), banks, insurers and reinsurers.
Ellie has acted for life insurers on pensions de-risking and reinsurance structures including bulk annuities and longevity products, and has assisted with both a Part VII insurance transfer and a friendly societies business transfer.
Ellie began her career in the Financial Services group. She has negotiated fund documentation including transfer, distribution, private placement and rebate agreements. Ellie has experience reviewing the terms of various fund structures and has advised institutional investors and pension scheme trustees on the various legal risks which may arise should investment be made in such structures.

- advising a life insurer on a LIBOR remediation project in relation to both bulk purchase annuity and reinsurance transactions
- advising a life insurer on the £800m buy-in of a pension scheme
- advising a joint venture life insurer on Solvency II grouping and other regulatory requirements
